As the country’s population ages, millions of older Americans will soon rely on the tireless efforts of individuals who support their activities of daily living. In recognition of these tireless efforts, President Obama has proclaimed November to be National Family Caregivers Month.

“Across our country, parents and children, siblings and spouses, friends and neighbors heroically give of themselves to support those in their lives affected by illness, injury, or disability. During National Family Caregivers Month, we salute the people who play difficult and exhausting roles, and we recommit to lifting up these Americans as they care for their loved ones while protecting their dignity and individuality,” the president said in his address to the nation.

President Obama Announces November as National Family Caregiver Month

The announcement was made last week, and helps to ensure that the country’s 60 million caregivers receive the proper appreciation. As Americans increasingly forgo traditional residential eldercare in favor of pursuing aging in place, family caregivers have assumed greater responsibility in providing the care necessary to support this decision.

Caregivers often make great sacrifices to provide their family members and loved ones with the confidence required to successfully age in place. This can involve taking time off of work and making significant sacrifices in their personal lives.

Independa recognizes the impact that caregivers have on the wellbeing of their charges, and the toll that attentive care can take. That is why our cloud-based software solution was designed to add value to each member within the circle of care, and provide caregiver solutions that dramatically improve quality of life.

Independa’s caregiving solutions are designed to allow both the caretaker and care recipient to enjoy greater freedom without sacrificing the quality of care. Our Integrated CloudCare platform is a telecare and social engagement solution that assists older adults in their desire to age in place. To schedule a demo, contact us through our online form.
