Privacy Policy
Last revised on: June 02, 2026
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how your personal information is collected, used, and disclosed by Independa, Inc. and its related companies ("Independa" or "We" or "Us"). This Policy applies to the Independa website available at www.Independa.com (the "Site"). This Policy does not apply to websites or services, including Independa's software-as-a-service offering, that post different statements.
WHO WE ARE
Our website address is: https://independa.com.
WHAT PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT AND WHY WE COLLECT IT
Information You Give Us
We collect any personal information you provide to us. For example, if you contact us through the form or contact information posted on our site, we will collect your email address along with any other information you provide to respond to your query.
Information Automatically Collected
We automatically collect information about you and your computer when you visit our Site. For example, we may log your computer or device operating system type, IP address, browser type, browser language, the website you visited before browsing to our Site, pages you viewed, access times, and information about your use of and actions on our Site.
Use of Personal Information
We use personal information collected through our Site, or disclosed by you on our Site, for the purposes described in this Policy. For example, we may use your information to:
- operate, maintain, and improve our Site;
- understand you and your preferences to enhance your experience and enjoyment using our Site;
- respond to comments and questions and provide customer service and communicate about our services and other news about the Site; and
- protect, investigate, and deter against fraudulent, unauthorized, or illegal activity.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor's IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for one year. If you select "Remember Me", your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Web Beacons
We may log information using digital images called "web beacons" (also called "pixel tags") on our Site or in our emails. We use web beacons to manage cookies, count visits, and to learn what marketing works and what does not. We also use web beacons to tell if you open or act on our emails.
Analytics and Tracking
We use the following analytics and tracking services to understand how users interact with the Site. These services are only activated after you provide consent via our cookie banner. If you decline, or your browser transmits a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, none of these scripts are loaded.
- Google Analytics 4 — collects anonymized usage data (pages visited, session duration, referral source). See Google's Privacy Policy. Opt out: Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Microsoft Clarity — session recording and heatmaps to improve usability. Data is anonymized. See Microsoft's Privacy Statement.
- Meta Pixel (Facebook) — conversion tracking for advertising campaigns. See Meta's Privacy Policy. Opt out: Facebook Ad Preferences.
Widgets
We may include widgets from third parties on some pages of the Site that allow interaction or information sharing by users. Some of these widgets provide specific services or content from a third party, such as a Facebook "Like" button. Your interaction with these widgets allows the third party to collect some information about you through cookies they placed on your device when you registered for their application or service. In some cases, the third party may recognize you through web beacons on our site or its cookies even when you do not interact with their application. Please visit the third-parties' respective privacy policies to better understand their data collection practices.
Embedded Content from Other Websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
YouTube Videos: Some pages on this Site display YouTube video thumbnails served from
img.youtube.com. Thumbnail images are loaded
on page load and may expose your IP address to Google's servers; no cookies are set at this stage.
The full YouTube video player is only loaded when you click a thumbnail, at which point
youtube-nocookie.com
embeds are used to minimize tracking. By clicking to play a video, you are subject to
Google's Privacy Policy.
If you do not wish to interact with YouTube's player, you may access the same videos directly at
our YouTube channel.
WHO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH
Sharing of Personal Information
We do not share your personal information other than as follows: with third party vendors, consultants and other service providers who work for us and need access to your information to do that work; to comply with laws or to respond to lawful requests and legal process; to protect the rights and property of Independa, our agents, users, and others including to enforce our agreements, policies, and terms of use and in an emergency to protect the personal safety of any person; and in connection with or during negotiation of any merger, financing, acquisition, bankruptcy, dissolution, transaction or proceeding involving sale, transfer, divestiture or disclosure of all or a portion of our business or assets to another company. We may create, use, and disclose de-identified and aggregated data for any purpose.
Categories of Third Parties
As required by CCPA/CPRA, the categories of third parties with whom we may share personal information include:
- Service providers — hosting, infrastructure, email delivery, customer support, and spam detection (e.g., Automattic/Gravatar for comment avatars)
- Analytics providers — only with your consent, to understand Site usage (Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity, Meta Pixel)
- OTP / Authentication services — trusted providers used solely to deliver one-time passwords for account security
- Legal and compliance — government agencies or courts when required by law
- Business transfers — acquirers or successors in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for monetary compensation.
HOW LONG WE RETAIN YOUR DATA
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
WHAT RIGHTS YOU HAVE OVER YOUR DATA
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Additionally, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correction — request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information
- Deletion — request that we delete your personal information, subject to legal retention obligations
To submit any of these requests, contact us at info@independa.com or call 800-815-7829. We will respond to verified requests within 45 days of receipt, as required by CCPA/CPRA. If we need additional time (up to 90 days total), we will notify you within the initial 45-day period.
WHERE WE SEND YOUR DATA
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
HIPAA COMPLIANCE
Independa is HIPAA compliant. We maintain appropriate administrative, physical, and technical safeguards to protect health information as required by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Protected health information is handled in accordance with applicable federal and state law.
INFORMATION CHOICES AND CHANGES
By accepting our Privacy Policy, you are opting in to receive text messages and emails, related to notifications, marketing messages or other information. Independa does not charge for additional notifications via email, text or telephone calls. Data rates may apply through your local telephone operator, carrier or internet provider.
You may "opt-out" of receiving our texts or emails by following the instructions in those texts or email messages. If you opt out, we may still send you non-marketing messages. Non-marketing messages include texts or emails about your accounts and our business dealings with you. You may send requests about your personal information to our contact information below. You may request to change your contact preferences and update your personal information.
When you visit our Site, we give you choices about use of cookies and tracking. Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. If you prefer, you can remove and reject cookies from our Site through your browser settings. You may also use our cookie consent banner (shown on first visit) to decline analytics cookies — if you decline, no analytics scripts are loaded. To change your cookie preference at any time, clear your browser's localStorage for this site and reload the page.
We also honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal. If your browser or browser extension transmits a GPC opt-out signal, we will automatically treat your visit as a opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information, consistent with CPRA.
CCPA / CPRA RIGHTS (California Residents)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):
- Right to Know: Request information about the personal data we collect, the purposes for which it is used, and the categories of third parties it is shared with.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@independa.com or call 800-815-7829. We will acknowledge your request within 10 business days and respond within 45 days.

By providing your phone number and using our services, you agree to receive these transactional messages. We do not share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes. However, it may be shared with trusted service providers who facilitate the delivery of OTP messages strictly for security and authentication.
If you believe someone has gained unauthorized access to your account, please contact our support team immediately.

We may receive limited data from third-party sources such as spam detection services, OTP delivery providers, and publicly available sources to verify contact information or prevent fraud. We do not purchase or receive personal data from data brokers for marketing purposes.
Automated Decision Making
We do not engage in automated decision making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects on users of our public website. Our Site is informational; any account-level decisions occur within our application, which is governed by separate terms.

As a health technology platform, Independa complies with HIPAA for protected health information within our application.
